I wouldn't just hand it over with a big smile on my face for no reason. If they needed if for something that was genuinely important I'd have no problem giving it to them. I also would have no problem sharing any wealth I had with the person I loved, but I'm not sure why I would need to share with his family also. Unless, like stated above, they needed it. Be careful that you aren't being used though.

Just give him my money? No, of course not. Nor would I expect him to just give me his. If I had more money than him, and he needed anything, I would more than happily help. But to just give him or his family my inheritance? That way lies tears and regret.
