Or maybe you have ideas on how to write a personal introduction letter to someone you don't know but will know in the future on a strictly social level.

Have you checked out the letter styles Microsoft Word has? Hey, they're not THAT bad....and with a bit of creative effort from you, the perfect letter just may find it's way fit for you to print.

This is a very interesting question because nowadays, letters are usually limited to the business kind, where things have to be in black and white. Your request for a social letter format seems to something more of a norm in the 17th century! I would suggest a personal letter format, with politeness and a lot of sincerity, a reference from a mutual friend would be a bonus!
