Probably not, seeing as there's not really another big bat out there to add. Even a trade seems unlikely, because the team isn't built around power. The Dodgers are a pitching team first, playing in a pitcher-firendly ballpark in the most pitching hapopy division in baseball, the NL West. The Dodgers got another big arm in Schmidt, and that would appear to be their splashy offseason move. What the team does have is a solid hitting team, a team that can get on base and keep runners moving, and I think that suits the Dodgers style more than power hitting. It would be an unnecessary expense.
If they were to add a power bat, I wouldn't expect Wells, seeing as he just signed a rather large contract with the Blue Jays (which should silence the source of his unhappiness). I would think a more likely blockbuster trade would be another centerfielder, Andruw Jones. Jones is in the last year of his contract and the Braves likely won't retain him after this season. If the Dodgers offer up some young pitching or good middle infield prospects, then I could see how the Braves might make a trade (they have a need in the middle infield and they would no doubt mind dumping Jones' salary, although it would be a cold way to treat your chief offensive threat). That said, I still don't think that a trade is likely.

l think the Dodgers are probably done as far as adding a bat to their line-up. One, they don't need another bat and two, they have already spent enough on free agents and salaries that they will only add a bat before the trade deadline in July if they're in contention. As for adding Vernon Wells, you heard wrong. He just signed a seven year contract for a lot of money and he wouldn't have done that if he was unhappy. Toronto made him very happy and he wants to spend the rest of his career there. Bottom line: no trades for another bat unless their winning the division (or close) and then, probably only a utility guy.

It would appear that the Dodgers are set even though a good power hitter would be the icing on the cake for that lineup considering Kent's and Gonzalez's power numbers are way down.
The Dodgers have built their team on guys that can get on and steal with guys that can hit for average and drive in the runner.
They don't seem to really be interested in power hitters in that park.
The last power hitter the team had was Adrian Beltre and he hit most of his 48 homeruns on the road.

I think the Dodgers have enough bats in their lineup, I think they have to go get a good defensive players because their outfield isn't that good, from what I hear.

If one becomes available, and depending where they are in the standings at the All Star break, I wouldn't be surprised if they added a bat around the 7/31 deadline.

They will add a batter but it might not be during the off-season. Wells is off the market and is very happy in Toronto (why?). Wouldn't Manny have been great. My fav player on my fav team. Dream come true.

I personally do not think that they will. Since they have a well known player in five posistions(Nomar Garciapara at first base, Jeff Kent at second base, Rafael Furcal at shortstop, Luis Gonzalez in left field, Juan Pierre in center field), and three young players they like a lot(Russell Martin at catcher, Wilson Benemit at third base, and Andre Eithier in right field), and another young hitter in 1b/of James Loney, they do not have a hole to fill.

I doubt it. I read that Kent is really fired up and has been working on getting his power stroke back. Expect a big season for Mr. Kent.
