Besides his screwup in Iraq, the tax cuts were the most important thing he did. In fact the economy right now is stronger than it was at any point during the "holy" Clinton years, mainly thanks to that.

Keep in mind that Bush has low approval ratings for two reasons:

1. Republicans wanted a conservative president but instead we got Bush as he is today- a centrist at best, NOT a conservative. Therefore a lot of conservatives disapprove of Bush due to weak policy in Iraq, drunken-sailor spending, and the wrong policy on the border.

2. Democrats are delusional half-wits and socialists who think that Bush is far-right wing.

Domestically nothing is different in my town/city in the past 4 years.
I think that president Bush, the senators and congressmen/women, military advisors, everyone all made a lot of errors, no doubt, there has never been a perfect war cause there is no perfect people.
The main reason our troops are still over there is because our country is divided on political issues !
Wars are won by the strength of willpower ..... without standing together we shall fail .
Thank goodness no one gave up the fight in Germany and in Japan just because war gets messy..... we would be speaking a different language by now if it weren't for our fighting force and the people at home who remained patriotic in-spite of diversity . just my 2-cents

It got us significantly deeper in debt. It increased the divisiveness within our country (especially the still-arguable results of election #1). It interfered with personal issues the governement should (IMHO) stay out of, like the Terry Schaivo case. It weighted our Supreme Court with a lot of conservatives.

FWIW, I do like Bush's immigration policy. I doubt the other Republicans will let him do it, but I like it.
