Don't fill yourself with empty calories like soda and candy. Eat a balanced diet and exercise regularly.
Take a little jog, and eat a snack, like a granola bar before class and you should feel alert for class. If the tiredness persists, see a doctor to rule out any illness.

First of all,you need to have a good breakfast before you go to school.....if you are pressed for time, hard boil some eggs the night before and eat them on the way to school along with some whole wheat toast (the vitamin B is an energizer)and a bottle of juice. Have a smoothie made with yogurt in the mid-morning and you may find yourself more alert. You truly are what you eat and if you don't eat nutritious foods, your body will rebel....lack of energy and alertness is a first sign. Take a multi-vitamin every day and try to get to bed by 10pm as the most important hours of sleep are those before midnight ( or so I've heard). You may need to be checked for sleep apnea also since this is a frequent cause of daytime sleepiness. If you snore, there is a good chance you have sleep apnea.

Try a natural energy drink with vitamins and some caffeine to give you a boost - but not so much caffeine and sugar you crash 10 minutes after you finish it. B12 is one of the best vitamins for this. I personally have found ZipFizz to work well getting me through classes and meetings, without crashing later. More sleep is always the best option, but I know how hard it can be to alter your body's natural sleep cycles on a whim.

Try to do your studying in the afternoon, and get to sleep earlier at night. Drink a caffeinated beverage before school, and again at lunch time--eating a candy bar (which also contains caffeine) should also help.
Don't drink any caffeine after lunch, because that could interfere with your sleeping at night.

have you tried nodoze pills? i wouldn't suggest long term usage. i used them when i worked nights when i really needed an extra boost. i would also suggest that you try to study earlier in the evening instead of at night maybe you could get some more rest.
