Crunches and other abdominal exercises are great for you, but it will not reduce the fat that is sitting on top of those muscles. You must diet to lose the fat, but even then, there is the loose skin to contend with. Make sure your skin stays well moisturized, and therefore elastic. It should shrink down, but the chance of it going all the way back to the original size/shape is unlikely.

As an ex-fitness instructor I can positively tell you that there is no way you can spot reduce any area including your stomach. By do the following 3 things, not only will you reduce your stomach roll but you will improve your overall appearance:
1) Proper & healthy diet. There are many good books but I recommend 2: Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle ebook by Tom Venuto - My first pick 2) Body For Life for WOMEN
2) A MINIMUM of 4 thirty minute cardiovascular sessions per week - burns calories - stimulates metabolism
3) Weight training - women make the very wrong assumption that weights will make them look like an over muscular east german Helga - not without the help of steroids, it won't. Weight training should be essential to every woman's workout routine and lifestyle. Not only does it increase muscle which in turn feeds off fat, it promotes strong bones that can stave off osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.
Do these things and the six pack will follow - irregardless of whether your muscles have been cut or not. I should know - I've had a c-section recently and I must say...I look good!

Are you talking about the baby fat roll or the loose, excess skin? The fat roll will go away with proper diet and exercise. That was never an issue for me. The issue I faced was the excess skin. It is just that, excess skin. What can you do about it? I was lucky that for the most part I had very little and it wasn't really noticeable. However, I'm on my third pregnancy and hoping I'm just as lucky this time around. Seriously, people were surprised when I had told them I'd had two c-sections. You just couldn't tell and my scar is next to invisible. Just last week my doctor was trying to locate my scar and couldn't. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'm as lucky this time. I'm not sure why some women have a ton of excess skin and some don't.

It is MUCH easier. I have had 4 c-sections. The first two, I did labor for several hours and then had the c-sections. Recovery for these took a lot longer than the next two. They were planned c-sections and I was up and moving within hours of surgery and felt pretty normal with a week. And I was only in need of pain killers for 2 days. That sounded more like the recovery time of a vaginal delivery to me. So, yes...it is MUCH easier.

I had one 4 years ago and was never able to get rid of it. Recently I started a Winsor pilates dvd for the abs and it is helping with strengthening my abs and back and I started Turbo Jam which I have a 20 minute ab workout from and I'm starting to feel some muscle there. The stability ball and ab lounge did nothing for me, so I recommend trying pilates for the abs and Turbo Jam for the abs. Both work your upper and lower abs.

If you are talking about the little roll above the c-section scar. The only way to get rid of that is a tummy tuck. You can definitely do abdominal workouts to strengthen the muscles and tone it more so it is not as noticeable though.

I don't know if you saw the show Swan, but all the women who had babies C-section or not, they told them only a tummy tuck would get rid of it. I never had one, but have the same problem, no matter how low I get my weight down to, it is still there. My daughter has had one, and 2 regular births, and she can't get rid of hers either. We both would love a tummy tuck.

Yes, I just had twins and I was able to get rid of mine. I did moderate excercise everyday. Nothing crazy. I walked alot, rode my bike, ran on occasion, lifted light weights (well, I lifted the babies in their car seats) and I did crunchs.
