* The new initiatives that are being affected in Space Programmes (cryogenics, Brahmos offer, mission of PSLV/moon, etc)
* Revolution in communication networks (Attraction of MNCs)
* India's committment to eliminate the terrorism with global sync.
* Some very good domestic initiatives in Gujarat State : on education of girl child, availabilty of 24 hour power to all villages, etc.
* Significant enlightenment of higher judiciary about empowering women, environmental, forestry and wildlife management issues.

India has the World's largest Army. So find out what India does with it, and how much it costs to maintain? Considering the poverty in India it seems a bit hypercritical to spend so much on the military and so little on the starving, don't You think?
