I was given a wallet for Christmas and a purse that matches it as an early Valentine gift. I've located the wallet on Coach's site, also, I can find a purse (on the site) very similar to the one I received but not exactly. So is there a way to spot a true Coach, or should I say spot a fake???????

inside the purse and wallet should be a lil coach pamphlet. it gives info on how to care for your items. if it doesnt have that, its a fake. and their should also be COACH printed on the zipper tag as well as the date it was established. but why do you care? its the thought that counts really. they saw a cute purse and got it for you.

The answer is in the labeling. If the label in the purse looks manufactured and says Made in Korea, then it is an absolute fake. A dead giveaway would also be the marksmanship on the purse. If you compare the seams and the raised leather in how it shines and notice it looks a bit odd, its a fake.

As for a Dooney and Bourke purse, it is the genuine metal tag located on the zipper.

If you notice any special tags on the purse that look fake, that is another.

Well if the C's on the logo (if IT DOES HAVE A LOGO) are INTERLOCKING or TOUCHING instead of being separate from each other, then they are fake. Also look at the seaming and also look at the STRAP of the purse since the strap sometimes makes it look so obvious! Also, the inside of the purse should NOT be made of suede!
