Your 1st and 4th answers are correct.
My old keyboard did not have one.
If you need to pause a game you are playing (someone at the door/answer the phone/etc.) SOME games tell you to press P or some other letter.

now what would you need a pause button for ??? the screen does not scroll unless you scroll it. Unless it's a techie one with speach recognition, then it doesn't type by itself either...
