I think that women are forced to pursue things in life that our society puts upon them. Such as what we see on television. Is it really necessary to put so much emphasis on ones looks? If a women starts to age she immediately thinks she has to have surgery or use expensive anti-aging creams and go on a diet. Women are under a lot of pressure from society because society seems to call the shots about everything. I think this world is getting strange in the sense that people are under to much pressure.

I think women, in general, sometimes talk too much and criticize each other too easily. They don't like to be criticized but they criticize others. There always seems to be a pecking order no matter where you go with women. A weird hierarchy based on whatever is the going fad at the time. Some women are so moody that they say anything they want whether it hurts someone or not. Men know better than that! Women pride themselves in being so sensitive but they really aren't.

first of all some of us are complete perfectionists so its hard for us to deal with mistakes. I know I sometimes have trouble

Then there's this weight problem, since when does being bone thin makes you pretty? I think that healthy+natural= pretty

Then there are some girls who practically use a bottle of make up everyday COME ON! How do you apply it? With a paint roller?

Then there are some girls who dress extremely revealing. Please spare my poor eyes ok? Looking sexy isn't wearing a shirt that's so short its more like a sports bra and then the skirt barely covers the bum. Sexy is when you can wear clothes that will match your confidence. Think about it this way, can you see your boyfriend's mom without her having to cover her husband's eyes?

Last but not least CONFIDENCE just not too much!!

I think women need to value other women a bit more and shelve the bitchiness, suspicion, jealousy and rivalry. We all talk about "the sisterhood" and then continue to ***** and back stab out of pathetic insecurities, rather than support our fellow women.

Come on girls, we should all have each others backs a lot more.

On another note, there are huge problems going on in parts of the world where women do not enjoy the freedom of speech and the rights that no doubt majority of us using this website take as out human right. For more information about the plight of these women and how to help you can refer to amnesty International or speak to your local Soroptimst Club who support women across the globe whose liberties are denied

the image of the 'perfect woman' should be formed by women, not men. women should compete less (among themselves) and cooperate more. we should be on the same side rather that bickering amongst ourselves about whether we should be 'traditional' or work outside the home. we should try to keep our young girls from being sexualized--esp. at such a young age. women need to be seen as human beings, rather than a 'nice rack' or a 'tight @$$'.

I see a women today that have major self esteem issues. I have several friends that put up with nonsense from men just because they are too afraid to be by themselves.

Lots of women also suffer from poor self image. They are insecure about their looks and weight and these problems trickle down in how they interact in society.

1. Unrealistic depiction of women in pop culture media: air-brushed and anorexic.

2. Modern-day young women's seeming paranoia surrounding the concept of "feminism": underlying this a perceptible, deeply rooted insecurity and corresponding lack of autonomy reminiscent of an earlier era when it was assumed the sole purpose of woman's existence on planet earth was for the pleasure and comfort of men; a time when women, like children, were expected to be seen and NOT heard. A part of this, surprisingly, is young woman's continued need to be validated by men and to be perceived as a 'good girl' (to be compliant) - even at the price of her own dignity.

The fact that some women underestimate themselves, they think that just because being a woman they can't do some of the jobs men do, I wonder this myself, what stops them to get ahead?...
Another one would be 'body image', most of us don't feel comfortable in our flesh, always trying to improve ourselves what seems to be superficial, but a lot of us don't concentrate to improve internally and mentally. My only problem is I can't seem to understand women, why some women lack of self-confidence
and self-respect.

i do believe, even with a young age, that most women face many problems. but i think that one of those problems that we face is PRESSURE. it may seem to be nothing but it is the one that triggers everything. it may be: peer pressure, parental pressure, etc.

Being made to feel like we're not good enough, like sex and all things sexual are wrong, feeling pressured to have sex to make a man love us, feeling like all other women are mean and deceitful, talking behind our backs and all. Things like that.
