Is there such a medical condition that effects the memory? Such as having a problem where your mind is stuck in events of the past and your in one huge nightmare? If there is, what is it called? Sorry, I'm not great with medical stuff. I want to know so I can add it as a plot in a story I'm writing.

There are several things that it could be but it would depend on a lot of things like trauma history, childhood development, alcohol or drug use, any major injuries or diseases as well as a family history of various medical conditions could all contribute to some memory problems. If this is strictly for a story I would probably look at WebMD and type in some symptoms you were looking for and go with that. Unless we had a pretty deep character profile you could be pulling at ill informed straws to get what you want.

I'm in one huge nightmare and I have epilepsy, not sure if that has anything to do with it.....though they say it can hinder short term memory.

Post traumatic stress if it was a terrible situation that happened in that person's life.
