Yes it would encourage family values and monogamous relationships. In fact it is reported that the split-up rate among gay couples is 1/3 of the heterosexual divorce rate. But there are those in the faux-moral-vocal-minority that don't want you to know that kind of stuff because it doesn't support their agenda of banning gay marriage.

1) It is true that female homosexual relationships have less partners than there hetrosexual counterparts. But male homosexual relationships are well known for having way many partners than the males and females put together who are hetrosexual. I think the reason is the female is a calming factor on the male sexual prowness. When the female is not there to encourage the monogamous part of a mans brain. A man will be as anti-monogamous as he can.
2) No because family values are an idea that 1 male and 1 female is the best environment to raise a child. And taking anything away from that will damage the child chances severely.

Why shouldn't gay people be able to marry and adopt children? I don't think being gay makes you a bad parent or partner. Not that it interests me, but it doesn't bother me either. In a world about to self-implode into bombs and nuclear destruction, I have better things to worry about than gay people.
