Hi - Happy Birthday

I remember that feeling - such an anticlimax to when you were growing up. It gets better though, I think for me it was about 25 when I stopped worrying about what people thought about me and realised its up to me to realise that I am special on a daily basis.

You now have a child - you can re- live the childhood excitement of birthdays through your children as I have found (I have 3 now) and then you realise that so long as your children are happy and think that you are special then your birthdays and christmasses come second. As your children get older - yours must be 2 or 3? they make your birthday special for you again as presents, hugs and you being the person of the day are on the cards.

Remember YOU are the most important and special person in your childs eyes and just being a mum makes you extra special ... you should be proud of yourself.

I am now 34 and feel 18 (without the insecuritys) and I now make the most of each day, am proud of my achievements, and I do feel wiser but still make mistakes, but I know I can get a hug from my children and that makes it better - for now that is all I need - one day they will be grown up - but thats another dillema I will need to deal with.

Hope that you have a great day - you dont even know whats in store yet - If you still feel the same later - talk to a partner/ mum/ sister/ friend - thats what they are there for

Sometimes I lose birthdays as well. I mean I used to go out the night before my birthday and -BANG- I wake up two days later, a year older (Strangely with a sore head and carpet tongue!). You will find a lot of people will agree that the whole birthday thing was fine when you could safely count the candles on two hands, then as you get older, it becomes a cheap excuse for a p*ss-up.
Then you have kids, and how many kids parties have you been to where there hasn't be a "Little Tipple" for the adults, who in my experience are normal still "Tippleing" long after the kids are snoring into a puddle of their own drool!
I feel that sometimes a younger person, such as yourself, feel the burden of "Adulthood" (an evil word!) and end up forgeting how to enjoy yourself.
A wiseman once said "Maturity and wisdom seldom come with age limits!"

Happy Birthday...P.S. Try reading this either before you get slightly tipsy, or failing that try in the morning with a black coffee and two Asprin!

Well, Happy Birthday! I'm turning 23 soon, and feel and look about 18!

Just got to make sure you make the most of you life, as time does slip away, and you will only have regrets if you are not fulfilling your life the best as you want to.

Maybe you should set some goals to achieve before turning 24, so that you see it as an achievement when you get to that age opposed to just another year older!

I'm a 23 year old. I'm married. and have a kid too. i had my first house by the time i was 20. its not that u don't know your age. i just think that for me. i feel comfortable and that's what matters. i used to be the party type and that's what mattered to me way back when. but now that i have a life and am comfortable with my life. i fell that I'm just going with the flow. i always say. life's a dance u learn as u go. i feel wiser on the ways that i want to raise my child but still feel negligent about how life really goes. well that's where i stand in life. hope it helps out. don't feel bad just one step at a time and be glad that were still young enough to enjoy life!!!

Happy birthday honey.
First and foremost, go have a blast.
you gat a kid. how nice. you gatta live like an adult and show a good example to that angel. stop getting confused. for your kid`s sake. Forget about the `kiddy birthdays`. you gat more responsibilities now so its normal to feel how you feel. you are wiser now.

Im 25 and feel exactly the same. It only seems like yesterday since I graduated in 2004...

I think life gets busier after 21 and u feel like youre on a treadmill - busy, busy, busy..

Most of the time I find myself doing things because I HAVE to, and not because I WANT to...
