Well, this is another option. You could try getting together with other friends you have in common and pool your money for a more expensive gift and give it to her from all of you.
If that doesn't work for you, I recommend you get her a nice flower arrangement and a card (or, preferably, a letter). Or you could try editing a video of her with footage from old family movies and more recent footage, as well as interviews of her other friends, use her favorite songs as a soundtrack and insert your own comments about her. If that is too complicated, try making a collage with pictures of her and her friends.

hey, id say u should make something urself. it doesnt cost much more than ur time and effort and its sure to touch her heart. make an album with ur pictures or smthing small like sm paper flowers or a box to put her jewellery in...something like that. handmade gifts are the nicest presents i've ever received, im sure she'll feel the same. goodluck, n happy birthday to ur friend!
