but thats whats weird! i know im kind of small and slender..but im 17 im a little old for that! and it wasnt like he was an old old man, maybe 30 soemthing or 40

Well on the innocent side, if you are young and he is older like Grandpa, it's probably just that 'cute kid/young boy' thing. Nothing to be embarrassed about.
On the not-so-innocent side, if it's a man, younger (approx 40) it's probably a little inappropriate if it's not a close family member like your dad or uncle or something.
Go with your gut feeling, if you are uncomfortable, tell this person a handshake is better!
