Hey Kiddo. I am a musician (Vocalist) and you can verify that by checking out my MySpace at MySpace.com/Musiciansrock if you want to hear how I can sing. I am 26 but unlike you, I never really wanted to be famous, but I enjoyed being recognized. I could have gone further had I tried harder. However. Everyone loves to suggest "getting an agent" but agents cost money and aren't always honest. Your best bet? Start entering talent shows. I was the first place winner for the Western Regional Talent competition back in 2001 and I bet you can find them online if you type that in a search tool. I have even sang with celebrities now (by the time I was 18) and also been on TV, in newspapers, worked for a talent company, a funeral home (singing) and even performed for the Gilroy Garlic Festival and all..........

You can find "work" in the oddest places and it WILL get you discovered eventually. Start out at church (if you go). Any time there is a gathering or festival, offer to sing at it for free. Enter any contests you ever come across and even Karaoke competitions and contests that radio stations sometimes have for singing.

When I was only 14, I had my first regular gig singing at a large funeral parlor called Alemeda and Rancadore... out in San Jose, California. If dead people don't scare you, then go to those places, sing Amazing Grace (and amaze them) and with your parents' permisson, they will likely hire you to sing at funerals. Back then I was getting about $75 for 1 or two songs...... AND THAT was back in 1994.... Soooooo - You could easily make some money and get more experience doing that too.

When it comes to school, Choir, Drama - musicals - ANYTHING in the arts you can do........ It will help you get into that stuff when you get into college too. If you need help, you can email me at AskMeg@Mail.com

As a musician/vocalist - I am ALWAYS happy to help young talent find a place where they can belong. When you are a singer, your heart aches when you aren't sharing your god given talents. I will be happy to do a basic search for your country/area if you would like and send it to you - or simply direct you on where to look. You do not have to give me ANY personal info kiddo. Never forget - everyone on these sites are strangers and you always want to be careful OK???
