Hi everyone. Lately I'm obsessed with an Idiea about moving to Buffalo. Do you think I should? Right now I live in NYC (Queens), and not satisfied with cost of living compared to quality.
I don't know anyone in Buffalo. Can somebody tell what should I do? I also would like to find out more info (preferably from the people who live there) about the city.

Whatever you do, just don't move to Ca. - we're over crowded and it pisses me off! I was born and raised here and now, it's a mess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, make sure you have a job in whichever new city you pick. I've heard ppl from NYC complaining about lower wages in other cities. Have you considered Staten Island? Nice residential living, smaller city feel but close to big city (Manhattan) attractions. NJ also offers some nice homes and close to NY. Some ppl like Texas bc there's no state income tax. Lower cost of living than in NY. Downside: hot 10 months out of the year, some resentment towards "out of staters" though some larger cities have ppl from all over the country. There is no one right answer that a person can give you-- you just have to weigh the pros and cons. Are you single? Some cities are great for families, not so great for single ppl. Buffalo doesn't strike me as a great singles city, but you'd have to talk to ppl from Buffalo (ppl who have lived in other cities in addition to Buffalo).

Hi, I hope you find happiness in whatever your final decision is. Hopefully more people from that area will be able to give you some sound advice. Just wanted to say I wish I could offer more help and ouch on the answer about California. You did not deserve that. Good Luck!

Wow, you sound alot like one of my brothers. He picks up and moves when it strikes him. I am orginally from NJ and I have not been as far upstate as Buffalo, but I have a good friend from there. Why do you think you are suddenly obessed with Buffalo?

You think NYC is cold??? Just wait till the Lake Effect snow kicks in. That alone is enough to make me not want to move there... Go SOUTH. Like, Richmond VA is nice. I grew up there. I live in CA now (sorry to the woman above me, if I messed up her state... ;) ), and it's too bloody expensive. I can't afford to live here, and I can't afford to move. If you go to Buffalo, which is an industrial town, you will find a dreary, cold, bland life, compared to NYC.
