Cefuroxime is an antibiotic given as prophylaxis (to prevent) infections or as treatment for infections on any part of the body but usually it is indicated for skin infections, urinary tract infections, and respiratory tract infections. It is also the usually the antibiotic of choice given as prophylaxis for post-operative patients.

When taking cefuroxime and any other antibiotics it is important to have a full stomach before taking the drug because it irritates the stomach. Or if you're a busy individual you could take crackers before taking the drug because these will help coat and protect your stomach. Antibiotics and all drugs are filtered by the kidneys and they could be toxic to the kidneys when taken for a long period of time or with large doses so it is always important to increase your fluid (water) intake while on drug therapy to help your kidneys flush the drug and also to protect your kidney. It is also important to take the drug exactly as prescribed in terms of duration and frequency of doses in a day. Do not try to increase or decrease the dose and do not stop the drug even if you start to feel better. Because antibiotics act on the infectious organism and if the doctor said you have to take it for 7days then it means it take 7 days to completely kill that organism. Even if you feel better on day 3, it doesnt mean the organism is out, just fainted. These would be pretty much all i guess.
