I'm going to the University of Wisconsin right now, I'm a 2nd semister freshman. I consider myself really smart and capable of doing almost anything. I got a 4.0 GPA in highschool and a 3.75 GPA first semister. At first I was looking towards engineering, but after a class I decided I completely hated it. I've always wanted to be a math teacher, but I'm so worried that I won't be able to live confortably on the salary. I know I'd be able to make more money elsewhere, but I'm pretty sure I'd love to be a math teacher. I absolutely LOVE math, but I'm not a fan of engineering or anything. I mostly just love doing calculus and I have been explaining how it all works throughout highschool and actually have tutored a bit.

Would I be able to live alone comfortably on the teacher salary for several years after college, and if not, what could I do that involves math, that is actually fun.
I mean engineering is so boring and slow, and if I do math I'd love to work with other people.ie teach

why shouldn't you follow your dream and teach math. you say it makes you happy. you're good at it . it's fun.

how many people can do what they love and get paid for it too? sure, it ain't a fortune but what would you do with a fortune? buy yourself a whole new set of problems? if you are meant to be rich, i'm sure it will happen. but if you're not , then what have you lost? life is already full of those people who know the price of everything but don't know the value of anything.

Your Life is your life. Put happiness before money & do what you love most. Teaching math at a high level will earn you a good wage anyway.

teachers job is not very easy if you work as you should. you would be responsible for future of many lives, you will influence their behaviours & goals. and you have to be perfect morally, socially and logically. Teaching profession its not highly paid, but it will give you inner happpiness and contentment. and do remember they say... those who CAN do and those who CAN'T teach.
go ahead and make a good decision.
God bless you

sure. if you want to make more money go for either a high school teacher or college math professor because they pay more than middle schools and elementary schools.
