ok i need help in geography, it says:
a location is 30 degrees north and 45 degrees west is ............ of the prime meridian and ............ of the equator

2. a location is 30 degrees south and 45 degrees east is ............ of the prime meridian and is ........... of the equator.

so can somebody help me understand that type of stuff??

lattitude and longitude are measured with the equator and the prime meridian as 0 points. If a place is 30 north 45 west, it is north of the equator and west of the prime meridian (PM for short)
If it is is 30 south 45 east, it is south of the equator and east of the PM.

The site listed below has a map with the degrees on it. If you locate the Prime Meridian and Equator and then look at the numbers on your question, you should be able to find the answers. Everything to the right of the Prime Meridian is East and to the left is West. Everything above the Equator is North and below it is South.

Learn about longitutude and latitude and then type in www.google earth so you can see it.
Also Prime meridian.

Type it into a search engine and you will get your definitions.

One degree is equal to 69.17 miles

so do the math
