Last time I saw clay Aiken on a talk show (i think Oprah) he was offended by the question and said that it was no ones business. Either he was offended by the question cuz he is and would like to keep it secret or cuz it is an insult that someone would think he was. Personally I think that he could be, he is very effeminate.

He might be gay.As a straight man,I have no clue.I do have to say from what I've seen from celebrities that some actions speak louder than words.Like George Michael in a restroom.No answer from Michael Stipe of REM for years of his sexuality ...admitted homo.Freddy Mercury from Queen (wonder where that name came from?),and many others.The fact remains that these are all talented perfomers to one extent or another,and the fact that they might pudge fack might revolt most of us,but who cares? If the listener likes the music and lyrics,who are we to judge? Queen had many fantastic songs that still inspire to this day.I say that Clay most likely is,but who cares?
