He should be punished for his deeds. We are no one to say whether he should be hung or not. That will be decided by the law. Punishment is a must to make him and others realize that they don't have any right to take anybody's life.
Personally, I feel execution is not the best punishment because that helps one in escaping the pains of this world and there is no time for realization; it's the easiest of all. Punishment should be educating and should effect a person's soul not just body!
