That's what I did...I'm MUCH more comfortable getting poked, prodded, and otherwise molested by a woman than a man.

I went to a male doctor for years, then i went into the emergency room one day for an emergency and a woman doctor was on call. I was so impressed with her, I started going to her and never looked back. She is the best doctor I have ever had and anyone else that goes to her says the same. I am wondering if its the fact women have to work so much harder to prove their self in a profession that was dominated by men for so many years. I fear I am going to loose her because the hospital wants her to start teaching medicine to students.
So, in answer to your question, go with whoever you think you will feel the most comfortable with. Personally, I think woman doctors are the best.

Of course it's ok. There were only male doctors for a long time, and women had no choice. Personally I prefer male doctors for a variety of reasons, based on my nursing career of over 20 years. However, there are good and bad doctors regardless of gender. You need to do what is comfortable for YOU! :)

Male or female doctor is not important, they will do their jobs as a doctor. But I prefer male doctor because sometimes I ask personal men questions. Or at least my penis erects during the checkup, I don't want female doctor thinks it is because of her.

I have had both. I find I prefer older male doctors. They make me feel much more comfortable. I have had female doctors... and they were ok. I definitely don't like younger doctors of any sort. Kinda the "Dougie Houser" effect, I suppose...

I think that you should go with whoever you'll feel the most comfortable with because that's with whom you'll have a sucessful working relationship especially when it concerns your health. I think you are making the right choice and the sex of your doctor wouldn't matter what's important is the quality of the working relationship that you'll have with her because you are comfortable with her and you trust her with your life.

I have a young woman doctor and I can hardly wait to drop my pants and let her do her thing. The last physical exam she did on me, I developed a massive hard-on which she completely ignored being the professional that she is. I know it was wrong of me, but I couldn't help it and I respect her decisions in my health matters.
