I know it is okay to dislike intolerance. But is it intolerant of me to dislike the actual person choosing to be intolerant/practicing intolerance?

Should you really only dislike the intolerance itself? Are you a bigot to dislike the person too, since they choose to be intolerant?

What if you don't hate them, you just dislike them? And what if they will not change their minds, they are set, because it is a religious belief?

If you dislike someone, that is not the same as being intolerant. You are being intolerant if it's completely unreasonable for you to not like something. I extremely dislike a guy in my biology class, because he's rude and obnoxious and doesn't shut up. But those are reasons. And if you keep thinking about this, your head will hurt.

Maybe this is a bit naive, but I like to go with "Live and let live."

You dislike whomever you dislike for whatever reason. As for whether you dislike the person or the behavior, how is one inseperable from the other. Sure, this person can be intolerant at times but be (seemingly) fine the other times. It would depend on your personal tolerance for the other persons intolerant behavior.

Are you a bigot... no. You have your preferences. Plus, dislike doesn't have the strong connotations associated with being bigoted.

I wouldn't recommend try to teach someone the error of their ways unless you know that they are receptive to personal change (unless your really have the missionary drive... then you will do as you see fit anyway).

Very nice question

Yes is it intolerant to dislike an intolerant person.

This is the most difficult part of it

This is how I Would deal with the situation , If possible I will leave the scene with out judging it, or I will not differentiate the act with my intellect and let the event unfold itself, which is more likely to be for the best as I have left it in Gods hands( faith is to be complete), most often we tend to judge the event before it concludes. creating the delusion!!!

i cannot sum this up any better then..

Battleling Intolerance is to be Tolerance... so to be intolerant you dislike people, degrading ur level to theirs... sounds sucks but if your the better person you know that nothing they can do to a fullfilling happy person. :) mayb they'll realise one day.

Intolerance is ignorance. Help the individual understand this. If this person's convictions are so true to him/herself, walk away its not worth your time but if there's hope and you are willing to show him/her the truth...good for you

I think that you should try to educate this person. People like to learn things, and if you can help this person learn,i think you should.Intolerance is not a learned behavior,it is how you were raised.Help this person, but don't hate them. That makes you no better!

i do not tolerate long lines, bad service or body odor.

i do not tolerate cigarette smoke, someone blocking an entire aisle at costco or someone butting in front of the line. i do not tolerate poor workmanship, bad excuses or people that lie.

i do not tolerate someone stealing, being acquitted for a crime or dishonest representation.

too bad that so many people in society are taught to tolerate!

"Disliking" someone or something is not the same as "tolerating" someone or something. I tolerate lots of people daily that I don't really like.

I guess that would logically make sense, but the best thing to do would be to brush your shoulders off.
