A percentage just means that if 350 is 100%, then you want to find out what a thirtieth part of that number is. To do that, you multiply by .30 (dont forget to move the decimal place in your final answer) and that gives you the correct answer -- to this or any other percentage question.
You can check your answer by doing a rough estimate. 30% is almost one third (33.3% is actually a third, but 30% is close enough for rough calculation) so if you divide 350 by one third, you get 117, roughly, so your final answer should be somewhere in that neighborhood. It's always good to do a rough check, just to make sure that decimal point winds up in the right place!
