Yes. However I would look for a download manager that saves your downloads in chunks, in case you get disconnected, this way you won't have to start from scratch again. Maybe someone out there can recommend a good, free download manager. Chow

the girl below is right the geekers will get into your system and have nothing bette to do than read your mail and p;ossible leave someting to puzzle the hell out of you. it makes them feel smart, which they are but... why not use that energy to make money and go something like travel or drugs or women or race motercycles. no, they are obsessed with burglarizing dumbasses like me and messing me up. congrats you bastards. do you kick little dogs and beat up old homeless guys when nobody big is waatching. i hate them. then there are the gov,. guys just doing their wierd thing. you may have got you name on some dumbass list. iwonder why they cannot fix this? bill gates wis trying. i love bill gates..

It will be completely fine. I used to do it myself and had no problems. Although depending on your provider they might disconnect you if you are idle for too long, but i don't expect that should be a problem with the majority of ISPs. Have fun, and get dsl sometime soon, bud.

I do it all the time, so ...well actually I have no clue if it's good or not. I just do it all the time. It could be bad, if so, then I'm screwed.


They not have DSL or any kind of broadband in your area?? or you just too lazy to get broadband??

I have dial up, cause that's all you can get in my area.

Yeah I'd say it would I left my computer on all night once to download ituens and download the music on it and its on dial up

Its OK, except that you will not be able to use your phone to call out, neither can anyone call you during the time you are downloading.

It depends on your ISP..they might disconnect you after a certain amount of time...As for your computer..Leaving it On wont harm the computer in any ways...just make sure you got your screensaver on...

It is very risky as outsider may intrude to your system unless you have a super solid firewall. You may prone to phone jacking also.

Its better NOT to shut your pc off. I leave mine on all the time and reboot once in a while. Shutting it off and on every day actually wears it out faster.
If you dont mind not having the phone available it doesnt matter.
