Rumor has it that Alfred Nobel lost his "girlfriend" to a mathematician.

Yeah, that is one way of sticking it to the other guy!

In any case, there are a lot of prestigious Nobel-like prizes in Mathematics like the Shaw, Fields, etc. Moreover, Nobel was interested in the practical sciences and math is not a "practical science' per se.

Nobel's final will of 1895 bequeathed $9,000,000 for a foundation whose income would support five annual prizes in physics, chemistry, medicine-physiology, literature, and peace. Four of the original five prizes were in fields which were close to Nobel's own interests, medicine being the exception. A sixth Nobel prize in economic science was added in 1969, so don't give up hope.

It is because the girl whom alfred nobel liked was fond of another person who was a mathematician. so it is said that he didnt start any nobel prize for mathematics and also wrote in his will that it shouldnt be ever started even after his death.

well , probably it has to do with the broadness of the field. since mathemathics can be used in different fields like physics, economics, engineering and among others. maybe alfred thought that giving the prize to the different fields can resolve the problem of jurisdiction, in which a field can claim its right on the said prize.
