In the past year my school alone has lost 4 students, 2 in car accidents, one to drugs, and one more to suicide only over a week ago. And its been making me think... Do you really go to heaven when you die? do the bad people really go to hell? Do you get reunited with your loved ones for all of time? Or do you just... Dissapear? Does your body remain and your spirit leave forever? Can you look back and see everyone after you die? See whats happening? See what people say about you? No one really knows, but Id like to know what you guys think?

I have heard spirits, felt spirits, and have had contact from some of those gone on before me, so I KNOW that there is an afterlife. Although I have never seen it, I believe that we definately move on. Death is only a transformation, it is not an end. This life is very very short compared to what lies ahead for your soul. There is no hell. Earth is the closest we will ever get to the definition.
Yes, you will see all those who have gone on before you. You will go to whatever "heaven" it is that you believe in. If you believe in reincarnation, then you will most likely choose that when you die. It is a choice. There is no death. You definately do not dissapear. Your soul is forever. The body remains, and the spirit leaves, but it can come and visit any time! This is why there are ghosts! I believe we see our entire funeral when we die. We stick around for about 2 weeks, then we are called into the "light". Then we see sort of a movie of everything that has happened to us in our life, and we finally understand what it is we were here for and why certain things had to happen. It is for the growth and development of our souls. Our flesh means nothing!
It doesn't matter who we praise, believe in, or what religion we follow. We all go to the same place... another existance! I do not believe that bad people go to hell. They may have to be reincarnated into a worse existence then they have previously had. Karma is what I believe in. What you dish out comes back to you times 3, good or bad.

The answers are in the Bible...the New Testament.

If you (any person) are truly born again (spiritually) you will go to Heaven.

If you are not a Christian you will go to Hell.

If your loved ones are in Heaven, you will be reunited.

Your body stays in the grave until the Ressurection when we will be given our heavenly bodies.

Scripture says To be absent from the body, we are present with the Lord. So our spirit first goes to Heaven for Eternity.

The verses are in the New Testament. Just like the situation of the car accidents, a person never knows when they might die so we must accept and grow in Faith and be obedient to God's word since we never know what can happen.

John 3:16 He doesn't want any of us to perish but many turn their backs on Him thinking they have plenty of time to decide about Eternity.

PS No one just "hangs around their grave" like the other posting says. Good deeds vs bad deeds doesn 't determine our salvation either. Jesus is The Way The Truth and The Life......that is also from the Bible. It says also to Choose This Day Whom You Will Serve. HE died for us. John 3:16

Personally, I don't believe that you go to heaven right after you die... I think you kinda hang around in your grave for a little while.. See I was brought up as a Muslim, so my Islamic teachers always told me that if you were bad, you were punished in the grave until Judgement Day... and then once you were trialed by God, on Judgement day, you would either enter Heaven or Hell.. depending of course if your Good Deeds outweighed your Bad Deeds.

So I think nothing happens. I guess it must feel like being asleep forever... but of course, no one really knows for sure... I guess it has to happen to you, to really know for sure...

What a bleak subject...

My 2 cents...

It sucks but you just die and become non existent like you were before being born. It's a very hard thing to conceive so people try to make religions. But it is the sad an inevitable truth. I wrote a song about it if you want to check it out that’d be awesome http://www.myspace.com/davidsdemos
Sorry about all the death it's very sad to see so many lives’s thrown away or ended so tragically. I wish you the best and just remember this is why we must cherish all the time we have.
