If the boat (including its crew) has a mass of 340 kg, what are the magnitude and direction of its acceleration?

the north component of force is
380-250cos(45)

the eastern force is 250sin(45)

the magnitude of acceleration is

=sqrt((380-250cos(45))^2+
(250sin(45))^2)/340

=.79 m/s^2

What's the angle?

N=380-250cos(45)
E=250sin(45))
tan(th)=N/E
th= arctan(N/E)

=49 degrees

The boat is on a E or W tac, I do not know kilo grams, but if 1=1, I would have to know the Pitch, Yaw, Trim and abuncha other stuff to figure that out. A sailing vessel is the closest thing to Flying ontghe surface of the earth, a whole lot of other stuff factors in.
Plus I am not smart.
