I don't think there is anything wrong with it. You're supporting your kids on your own, and not using the welfare system that the rest of us pay for. Good for you!
How does it make any sense to make it illegal to charge money for something that you can legally give away for free. America is a great country, but it can really be quite backwards at times.

OOH boy .. you are gunna get a lot of people telling you it is wrong and JUST HOW WRONG IT IS TOO ...
BUT NOT ME ......
but before i start ... I have to say I HAVE never been a hooker .. and I NEVER could be a hooker BUT i will also NEVER judge a woman who makes that decision .. ESPECIALLY one as you described ...
ok now back to the answer ...
Is it wrong... no not really ... all she is doing is selling a commodity and one that we accept being sold on SO many other levels other that THIS ...
Sex sells products
sex sells movies and entertainment and THAT'S FINE... we accept that ... BUT GOD help the woman who decides to sell her body .. she will be condemned by the self-righteous at every bloody turn....
If somebody is good at accounting and crunching numbers ..and they select a career where they can put their skills to work .. we congratulate them ..
If somebody can ride the corporate ladder stomping all over everybody on the way up and making millions ..we envy them ...
BUT if somebody can make a good living and live as you described .. well hey she's nothing but a whoring Sl*t.
Prostitution IS the oldest proffession and IT will always be around .. and I have no problem with somebody using their *skills* to look after their kids .. put them through school and provide all their needs ... THE ONLY PERSON she really has to answer to IS HERSELF ..
IF other people come back and say BUT WHAT OF THE WIVES OF THE MEN WHO VISIT THE HOOKER .. well their issue SHOULD be with their husbands .. NOT The hooker.
there are far less moral and ethical LEGAL jobs than Hookers .. after all WE ALL KNOW WHAT A HOOKER is selling ..
But why is she worse than the used car salesman that sells you a lemon .. Or the Doctor that over-prescribes to a patient.. or to an ambulance chasing lawyers .. etc etc etc ...
If the hooker is hooking honestly .. I can't see it as being wrong .
GREAT QUESTION BTW>..

There's nothing wrong with prostitution per say but I would have to vote against it in your case.
You have children and being a hooker can be DANGEROUS.
Both health wise and from you never know who you are going to meet. You have kids and it's more important that they have a mom to grow up with.
Prostitution is dangerous (as I'm sure you know), even if you are not into drugs, someone could easily slip you something. You could get physically hurt (what starts out as a good intention could go suddenly wrong as there's a lot of nuts out there).
How long can a young lady continue would be something to consider in the future.
Aids or other health threats and remember you are around your kids and exposing them.
I admire you for not going the welfare route and wanting to give everything to your kids but I would prefer having a mother all my life than having money and losing her at an early age.
Do the kids know what mommy does? (If so other kids can be pretty cruel towards them)
Would you want your daughter to be a hooker? (if so why spend money on private schools)
Just be careful and think about others things instead of money.

Yes, these men are married, you are providing a service to them that you could possibly contract a disease and DIE. What about when your children go to school and have show and tell, My mums a whore. Do you think that is a good environment to bring them up in? What about when you get beaten, who will look after the children? Personally I have a moral aversion to this type of work, but if you have no moral, think what you are setting your children for!!!.
What about your family, would you like your dad to come and be a customer, well they are all some ones dad.
Be at peace.

Good grief. It seems I gave thumbs down to everyone who gave thumbs up. The majority being it's wrong wrong wrong, it's a sin, ranana ranana. Gypsy Whitemoon refreshingly stood out from the rest. I've always believed it should be legalized, for the reasons she states. It IS a profession, & the oldest. & how presumptuous to say "hookers" (I really don't prefer that label!) are on drugs. Not anymore than anyone else. Maybe she should be stoned for taking such good care of her children! These negative answers are really appalling. In my practice, I've often noted a bit of "jealosuy" in women who bash prostitutes. As well as they fear their husband may go to one for things they don't provide. No. It is not wrong.

YES!!! There are so many jobs out there why would you de-grade yourself prostituting and what about your children finding out what you do for a living!!!!!! There is no excuse for it at all!! How would it feel to be labeled a (HO) all your life and you are not setting a good example for your children !! How would you feel when your children think the only way they could get through life is to sell themselves!! People like that needs to stay on the pill and NEVER have children!!!!!

Prostitution turns a woman into a total skank and an embarrassment. She is literally saying to those children that it's okay to sacrifice your dignity for the almighty dollar. And,I don't know what world you live in, but most hookers are on drugs, and I'm sure they don't do taxes. Who provides their W-2's? Huggy Bear? And we all know that they are not only doing elderly men. They do other druggies, men who are cheating on their wives, and freaks who rob them, beat them, and sometimes kill them. Get with it, girlie.

Aside from my personal opinion, I guess if there was no work left for anyone... then no, there would be nothing wrong with it.. but that isn't my personal opinion.. My personal opinion is do anything other than that to provide for your children.. Put it this way.. would you want your children to go into that "profession"? I know I would probably die if I found out my future children were prostitutes.
People have the right to do whatever they want with their bodies.. its a shame that what they do do to their bodies, destroys them... both mentally... and (slowly) physically.
My 2 cents...

I really dont have an issue with what you do, as long as you are ok with the type of work personally. If you start with anxiety and guilt, are taking valium or other prescription drugs just to get through your day and you look on what you do with dread or on the next working day with dread then I would say dont do it - BUT if you are happy with your life, the money you make, the services you provide (and you and your colleagues do provide good services to older men who really may only have female liasions with women they pay for because of their circumstances and may only want those type of liasions without committment) but with human contact and warmth then who am I to judge you. There are far worse things that people do out in this world to make a living where the exploit, lie, cheat, manipulate and do out ragious injustices to people all in the name of earning a living and being paid for sexual company to men is NOT one of those jobs. I have seen some so called professionals in the line of business do terrible things to other people resulting in retrenchments and bankrupsties (spelt wrong) all in the name of business. (Lawyers, use car salesman and door to sales spring to mind) so if you have found a way to carve out a comfortable life for you and your family without hurting anyone - good for you.
I would also like to add after reading some comments from those who do no wrong and feel its there god given right to throw the first stone ................In Australia it is perfectly legal, sex workers pay taxes and have government paid advocate services where sex workers can go to talk with other women (many of these women who counsel sex workers on their rights and responsibilities and health issues are former prostitutes themselves), many women work in brothels that advertise in the local and city papers, and TV for their services and even advertise for women 18 - 45 to work for them. Since the legalization of the sex industry there has been less corruption and many less assaults and exploitation on women who whatever reason work in this industry.
Also my research indicates that its just not about sex (intercourse) its about the opportunities provided by these sex workers for men to not only have sex but to talk with women and alleviate some lonilineses in their lives.

Well, the Bible says anyone that causes someone to sin is also guilty of that sin, as well as later saying if a man even looks at a woman in lust, he is sinning. Now I'm not advocating Islamic clothes for women and all that, what I'm saying is that by offering one's "services" one is placing that initial temptation in their mind. Sure they probably would have had it anyway, if they would accept the proposal, but if you have no part in initiating the sin, the sin is not on your head.
((Man I hate saying the word "sin" so much... it's WAY overused, nowadays))
