dont start off on something like a CBR 600 or anything. its a death wish. Remember, the 600cc sportbikes hit 100 in about the same time as the 400,000 dollar 615 hp porsche carrera GT.

The best beginner's bike hands down is the Suzuki Katana 600cc. I've riddin a lot of bikes, and this one is awesome to learn on. It's easy, balanced, and all around good on all specs, including price.

Ninja 250. Or just some "standard" bike around 250-400 cc range. (KZ400, etc)
