Whenever I try to print something, it eats the paper from the right, the paper gets jammed and the printer keeps printing and ink goes all over the inside of the printer! I can't print ANYTHING! What is wrong with it and how do I fix it? I checked Lexmark's website but they don't have anything on it about this problem!!

Your paper feed is not properly adjusted. The rollers on the left side are probably too loose and do not grip the paper as tightly as the right side; hence the disproportionate feed.

Check for obstruction or rollers that may be stuck or tight; clean them all well and use something like a light sewing machine oil, or grease stick to make the rollers move smoothly.

You should also get rid of static electricity buildup by brushing the rollers and other parts of the feed mechanism well with a small brush.

Finally, check that your paper thickness is what is recommended for the printer, or that the thinkness setting on the feeder is set to the proper type of paper ( it may be set to envelopes or other type of paper ).

Had this problem with another named printer. They kept sending replacements, and all worked the same. I was told the paper is drawn in at the right -- not across the entire sheet.

I noticed the paper guide on the left, that is supposed to hold the paper straight, was half as long as that on my older printer. After much frustration I solved the problem by having my husband bend a piece of metal into a right angle. With a large binder clip, I clipped the flat end of the angle near the top of the paper feeder along the left side of the paper. This keeps the paper feeding straight. Been a year and a half and it is still doing the job.

I realize we should not have to do this, but things are constantly being made cheaper and the manufacturer probably saved 2 cents on the shorter piece of plastic.

Try feeding the printer a single page at a time, if it is still doing it then your rollers are not working. Unfortunately there is no easy fix for this unless they are visibly jammed by debris (just pop open the printer as if you were replacing the cartridge and take a peek).

If the rollers are no longer working and are not jammed then you will need to either have the printer services or more reasonably, replace the entire unit.

the rubber rollers on your printer placed on down and are not as hard so slip on the paper. for a non everlasting answer you should use a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and sparkling the rollers, yet you want to have the device serviced

they are carried at Ritz Camera and Comp USA. Buy a new one and stick the old one in the new box. Keep the new one and return the old one and get your $$$ back.
