i took my family there a year ago. the atmosphere is very "stuffy" but the food is really good. 4 people set me back $450 but we got one of my favorite bottles of wine. (2002 duckhorn cabernet) which was $200 by itself!

do i think it's worth the money? no, because for that amount, i could get food just as good in an environment i enjoy more.

i prefer morton's, flemmings or mastro's. but out in the riverside area, there's nothing that can beat duane's.

Duane's has a very elegant atmosphere with a lot of character (go to http://www.missioninn.com to see pictures of all the Inn's restaurants), but in my opinion the quality of the food and the overall experience is not worth it for the price. You would be better off heading right across the street to Mario's, which is renowned for their food and has a wonderful, romantic atmosphere. Mario's also has a nice bar if you just feel like grabbing a drink, and you can even order a simple meal at the bar if you ask nicely:-)

For sheer atmosphere, if the weather is nice, try Las Campanas at the Inn. They serve upscale Mexican food on a beautiful patio. This is the prettiest time of year in Riverside - no smog!

It is one of the best steakhouses in the world. It is on many best of lists. But be prepared to spend well over $50.00 per person depending on what you order. The atmosphere is also magnificent.
