He has no competition at all. Just baseline hackers and seasonal players (clay) like Nadal.

There's really not another player on the tour with anything resembling a "game" Compared to the Becker, Agassi, Edberg, Sampras, Courier, Connors, Mcenroe, Lendl era, the current top players pretty much have junior games. Not even a legit serve and volleyer in the top 20.

Yes, the rest of the ATP players are boring and have no confidence against Federer. The same for Tiger in golf, the rest of the PGA are pathetic losers.

I think he's the greatest player to ever play the game, but he's still overrated, because like you mentioned, the competition at the top of the men's game isn't that strong right now. Yes, he beat Sampras once on grass, but after watching Sampras play on grass in his prime, I would have to say that Sampras was pretty much unbeatable. Federer wouldn't have beaten Sampras on Grass in the mid-late 1990s. Nobody could.

You only ask if Roger Federer is overrated because unfortunately Tennis is and has been underrated for way too long!
Most of the players playing today are as a whole much better than those playing 20 years ago! Again...that's as a whole!
I ask you...if Federer was American, would he not have had much more praise by now!!!! Heck yeah he would!
This guy is a phenom among phenoms!!!
Think about it like this....
This is the first time in the history of mankind that we as a race have seen someone play any sport much less tennis at this level!
Its hard to recognize something you have never seen before......isn't it! Well......here it is!!! And its name is.......
ROGER FEDERER!

well he does play real good and maybe he does not have good competition, atleast boris becker thinks so.it is difficult to say what the problem is like we dont hear of the federer forehand or federer serve but we hear of the roddick serve and gonzalez forehand.however the fact is that federer has a brilliant all round game he does everything really well and because of his allround game he is able to dominate others.but i also feel he needs some serious competition.its so much fun to watch someone defeat him namely nadal even if its seasonal atleast he is defeating him.

Absolutely NOT! This guy is that good!! Don't you remember who dethroned Sampras at Wimbledon, yours truly Federer, and this wasn't at the end of Sampras career. What about Roddick, Safin, and Hewitt, these guys play the same style tennis, if not they're more aggressive.

You are so CRAZY!!!!!! If you think Roger is overated. How can you win about what is it 10 grand slams as a bad player. He has more of an arsenal than what you give him for. Besides its not that it is a hacker its where you put the hacker. He is just a smart player.

I don't think so, I think if Sampras and Agassi were in their prime right now he would be better than Agassi and at least as good as Sampras.

Probably the worst question anyone has ever asked in the history of questions. The players on tour are fantastic athletes and tennis players.....Federer is just better, more patient. He is the Tiger of tennis.
