you should buy a microphone and talk to them over an instant messenger. AIM for example, allows you to connect to another person and talk to them

Emails is one way to cut down on phone calls, but then both sides need to have internet access. Did you know that AOL is not giving free service? They are, so all you need is an internet connection, whether it be by telephone line or cable modem. If you have the phone already all you do is plug the telephone into the computer and download the free version of AOL. If you dont have a computer, well you could purchase a basic one...for as low as $500.00 from somewhere like Gateway or Dell and make payments...the payments would be low on that amount. Sometimes the old fashion way of writing regular letters is nice also...yes it would take a few days to get there...but you could put in pictures...etc.

I'd either..

1) Call your phone call and invest in the best long distance rate for you because maybe there is something out there that will suite you better with the long distance calling.

2) Use e-mail to communicate with them just like you communicate with the Yahoo! Answers Community

3) Maybe if your family members have a cell phone.. see what service they have and then go and invest in the same service so you all will be able to talk for free. (Mobile 2 Mobile)

There aren't many resources here but I hope I helped a bit. Good luck in cutting down your phone bill and good luck with your pregnancy also!

You can call loved ones Once a week. That way you can still keep in touch, and it won't run up your bill. You could buy a prepaid calling card too. Also keep the calls short if you want to call more than two people. You can also get email addresses and email people. You can write letters too. It always made me feel good when someone sent me a letter or an email when I was in the Navy. Good luck with your pregnancy and Congratulations.

can u use instant messenger. Sure u can't hear the person's voice on the other end, but you can communicate for free with Yahoo! Messenger if you have a computer.

When you feel like picking up the phone write a letter, you know how you feel when you get a letter from someone you love i the mail? well, imagine thats how someone feels when you send them one!!! Families love it when they get mail from far away ( especially with photos) these are the letters that litter the photo books or the top of the tv!!!

If your relatives have access to Internet...tell them to download and you have to download as well skype (www.skype.com) from computer to computer is free.. the computer must have a micro and baffles..(mm not sure about that word) or you can buy some credit and is pretty affordable....
