I am building a computer with:
-An Intel Core2 Duo Processor:E6600
-A P965 Motherboard (not SLi)
-A Radeon X1650
-A 320GB Seagate SATA (3.0)
-3GB of DDR2 SDRAM
-2 DVDRW Drives
-1 Floppy drive

The power supply I'm gonna get has a wattage of 530watts. Is that too little or too much?

So, with all that extra wattage, what happens to it? Do I have to pay more on my electricity bill?

Power supply is plenty, don't listen to people who tell you that you need 600W for that, you really only need around 400, but the 530 is good. As for the extra wattage, that rating is only the maximum it puts out, it will only put out what you need at any given time.

530 is ok higher is always better, the power is there but your not necessarily using it ,sort of like a hard drive the capacity is there if you need it but your not running at full capacity all the time. if you go to low in wattage the p/s has to work harder to keep up and overheats and fails. you dont plan to use both dvd burners at the same time are ya? because as far as i can see they are the highest pwr draws.

The power supply is more than enough keep in mind that not all the componets are using wattage at the same time.

The parts are all compatible, but I would recommend at least a 600 watt power supply for that setup because when you're gaming and doing other things like that it really puts a lot of your parts under pressure and they use up more power than they regularly do at idle.

that is plenty to go round. a 320 GB drive isn't going to use anymore power than a 80GB drive.on most all the new boards, the processor will have its own supply line(4prong plug) along with the usal board connector.

i would upgrade to a evga 8800 or xfx 7900gs gt that will run fast.

Nice build you got there. I would go for a 600W PSU, but thats just me.
