The best defense is manners. Try to avoid fighting whenever possible. You can get hurt really bad regardless if you win or lose. Fighting is stupid. For instance, he can be a train wreck and you don't want to end up on CNN if you know what I mean...

hes just jealous cos you got bond with his girl.smile sweetly at him everytime you see him,he'll think you know something he doesnt,which will make him paranoid,and probably drive him nuts. if he confronts you and challenges you then square up to him,close your eyes and pretend your rocky balboa,then open em and fight back,hopefully it wont be long before fight gets stopped,when your getting pulled apart start jumping around like a knob shouting ''next time il kill you,stay away from me or your dead!'' even if he was winning people will think you were and be frightened of you!

Well you should not be talking to his woman first of all. And secondly fighting never gets you anywhere its a waste of time and money if you need to see a doctor because of it. Fighting is just immature and stupid.

Ok so lets say you fight this kid and he kicks your butt. Then what? Will you stop talking to his "chick" I doubt it. by no skill cheer on fights, I mean if its a slapping interest to confirm who can cope with the main slaps, thats diverse. battling is fairly risky and could bring about a homicide case.
