The best solution, if you can choose your own passwords, is to have one password for less important things like newsletter subscriptions etc., which you use everywhere, and rarely have to change.

Then you should have another one, a secure one, which has at least eight characters, including upper and lower case letters, numbers and special characters, like * or ^ or !, which cannot be found in a dictionary in any language, and which you can both remember and type without error. Using two nonsense words with sounds from your language will make it easy to type, and if you put a number or character in between them, your password will be pretty secure, memorable, and typable.

Use the same secure password on all your important accounts (bank, brokerage, etc.) and change it every six months.

If, however, your passwords are mandated by some security-crazed IT person, then you have no choice but to subvert the system by writing them down in a book or list, rendering them less secure than the two memorized passwords system outlined above.

Use firefox it automatically puts it in for you also just use wordpad for that or excel with a lookup if you have so many.
