You really do not have to do community service college to get into college; however, I would highly recommend at least doing a couple of community service activities since it will add points and make you look good in the eyes of the admissions officer. Also, you can put community service on your resume and that will help find internships while you are in college.
Community service helps to show that you have responsibility and do extracurricular activities. However, community service is one of many factors that colleges use to determine whether to accept you.
