Try spraying vinegar on the area - it will kill most plants in a hurry, and won't harm your puppy at all.

I would get the weeds out and reset the pavers with the sand. There is a type that you can get from garden centers that sets up like concrete with just wetting it.

I did this to solve a problem with weeds coming through seams in a sidewalk and it worked out well. It looks natural and there is a the problem is solved.

The other suggestions are super and they also require that you do it often.

I have dogs, pavers and am an established gardener...try digging the weeds first... I dont know why everyone is answering "pour boiling water on them"...doesn't work. If digging doesn't work, try Round-up...it is the least harmful chemical agent for killing unwanted weeds out there...once it dries on the greenery, there shouldn't be any danger to your puppy...But always read the label of any pesticide/herbicide or visit their website for additional info...good luck

Nothing that I am aware of. I have my yard professionally fertilized, weeds killed, etc. It is actually cheaper than doing it myself..Anyway I won't allow them to spray anything on the side of the house where the dogs go.
I read some where that you shouldn't allow a child to walk barefoot on grass that was just sprayed for weeds or fertilized. I sure wouldn't allow my dogs on it either.

You have to just pull them by hand. I don't think there is any "safe" poison. If it kills the weeds, what would it do if a dog chews on it or walks on it???

Use Scott's Weed and Feed. This is the best thing that I have used, it kills the weeds and fertilizes the plants, so you can use it all over. We have 2 dogs and cats and it has not harmed any of them either, and one of these dogs loves to dig

Roundup will not hurt your dogs, and it will work on your weeds. As soon as it hits the ground and dries it is harmless to animals and people. Do not use a weed and feed as someone suggested. Now that can hurt people and dogs.

Pour boiling water on them and they will go away. It may take two or three applications about 1 day apart.
