Steven Spielberg gave a great formula:

A hero on the road to adventure, something happens, and forces them to face their biggest fear. They overcome the obstacle and ride off into the sunset!

I think that makes a great script!

NEVER GIVE UP ! ! !

Good luck! Let me know how it goes!

Start at the Wikipedia site below and select the characters you want in your story. It's a good idea these days not to have a cast of thousands. You have prominent surgeons, a publisher, and singer Woodie Guthrie in this mystery. You could tell it from the point of view of the murderer, telling someone else, a guy in a bar, a fellow prisoner, a girlfriend, a boyfriend how the police were so far off track. You want to paint an original picture of Short, "The Black Dahlia". A place to begin might be Raymond Chandler, the famous mystery writer.

The old saw about scripts is that you find a character, get him up a tree, throw rocks at him and get him down again. Who is your character, what is the tree, what are the rocks, and how does he (she) get up and down?

Good luck.

Start with the facts, then add in dialogue and movements. I know that doesn't seem like much, but if you familiarize yourself with the subject matter, ideas should pop out at you.

It has to be cost effective.
