I was thinking of taking in a female roommate to share my apartment with, but not charge her anything. I'm thinking this might be a good way to meet some nice ladies. Who knows, they might like me! :)

Well my boyfriend let me stay w/out charge of rent, however we've been together for a long time. If you are not currently in a relationship with a women and you know nothing about her she could end up being crazy and you might not be able to legally kick her out without a contract etc. and so you might want to make some second thoughts on your "brilliant" plan

If I was female - which I am not - and someone offered me a place rent-free, then I would be looking for a hidden agenda. So I think you will only get a certain type of girl.
Ask rent for the place - and use the money to get out and about to meet girls - yeah?

Thats fine as long as she's a good roommate and cleans up after herself. And make sure you can pay rent by yourself.

theres nothing wrong with it, but it looks like you are getting the sucker end of the deal. I wouldn't room with a guy though and not pay rent because I would always wonder what he wants in return for not paying....

you'll have to come up with some kind of clause that states you can make them leave at your own discretion, with proper notice of course.
Or else they'll just live for free forever.
