When I interviewed for jobs after college, I was disturbed by the fact that I had to wear a suit and tie. They say image is eveything. I think it's every body trying to put people in alitte box or something to control them. I can get the job done just as good in a clown suit was a can in a stupid suit and tie. Dress cloths aren't even comfortable. It's like there's more emphasis on pretended to be the part, rather than accutlaly being the part. People assumed that I didn't have a high gpa because I was an athlete. What the hell does a person with a high gpa look like?

If you don't want to wear a suit and tie to an interview, then interview at companies that are not looking for people to interview that way. Here are a few examples:
Burger King
Blockbuster
Borders Bookstore
But Seriously. Whats the big deal? Most companies would expect you to be professional, both in the interview and with their clients. If you are an artist or other creative type, then maybe the company would have different guidelines.

The person that decided that was wearing a suit and tie. That's the dress code. Since you're at the bottom of the totem pole you have to follow suit. Ha Ha. All you need to do is work your way to the top and become CEO and change everything. Do what they did on the island here. Ties are banned. It's sooo hot. If you show up with a tie, it will be cut off your neck. See things can change but it doesn't start at the bottom. Also it isn't about comfort, it's about looking good. I think men in expensive suits look soooooo good.
Everyone knows the stories about how jocks are given breaks on their grades so they can play. The best thing here is now athletes have to maintain a fair grade average to play. My nephew is very bright and playing college football. He will be a doctor. He complains that the time he has to spend at football practice really cuts into studying time and his grades suffer for it. And finally, a person with a high gpa looks like a good lookin' man in a suit that knows how to play the game.

Are you kidding? The reason one wears a suite and tie for a job interview is to impress the person you want to work for/with. If you do not respect them enough to have them form a good impression, why do you even bother to interview? Sleep in tomorrow, friend. I'll see you in a soup line as I drive by.

I think that society in general perceives a professional person as one that wears a suit and tie. As opposed to someone wearing shorts and a Hawaiian shirt.

Relax, if you want to be a clown, dress as a clown. If you want to be a professional, dress as a professional. My friend, it is your choice.

You only have one chance to make a first impression.

People, will treat you better if you are wearing a suit than if you are wearing jeans. That is a fact, it is just how it is; you make the choice how you want to be treated.
