Stray Cats were not the start of Rockabilly, nor did they create it, they are merely a revival of it. If you want good rockabilly, look for stuff that came out back before the 80's. Singers and bands like Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Charlie Feathers, Elvis, Carl Perkins, Rick Nelson, Everly Brothers, Roy Orbison, and Jerry Lee Lewis, just to name a few.

If you can find it it's really worth the search:
Snaggletooth Ann - Gene Norman & His Rocking Rockets
This is one of the ORIGINAL Rockabillies it's absolutely awesome and very rare.
Here's another very early Rockabilly you should hunt down while you're at it:
Rocket in My Pocket - Jimmy Lloyd

There's a band called Bleed out of Wisconsin. They are beyond awesome. I really don't know their URL right now, but I think you can find them on Amazon.
