There are always so many deaths of small children recently there have been children dying in cars.
Is it always really just a trgic accident or are people becoming more blazey with their parenting and therefore becoming more negligent.

There was this article some time ago on the purpose children have nowadays. They're no longer needed to help bring in cash for the family, and nor are they needed to work on farms.

I seriously doubt that majority of people are purposely negligent. Many people have children because they want them and not because they need them.

That's just in response to some answers above.

For the car accidents, often it's more tragedy. Precautions could have been taken to make sure the child was strapped extra tight or not leaning in front, but the idea is that all this isn't quite negligence. It's more a case of not-seeing-the-need to go overboard with safety precautions.

Of course, it really depends on the nature of the accident. If the driver was underage, was speeding or was driving with a child in his lap- then yeah that's negligence.

To say that children whose parent's cars get hit by say drunk folks....are victims of negligence- then that's not fair. The child may not have been strapped in extra tight, but the cause of the accident itself wasn't the parents fault- it was a tragedy. Something beyond control. The effects of the tragedy itself is a different story, and to what extent it is merely depends on how particular the parents are...but sometimes even this is chance.

I think it's negligence because a lot of people are on the phone in the car and aren't paying full attention to the road. And there are STILL people who don't have their children in the proper restraints.
