Ok... I am transgendered (ftm) and want to order a prosthesis through the mail. I can pay for it and the box is unmarked, but the problem is that I live with my parents still and have not come out to them. What can I say came in a box for me without my sending away for it? They are bound to ask, and I just don't have the heart to tell them that I'm trans.

Okay, first - how are you transitioning without them noticing?!? Second - you are becoming fully male, mentally, physically, the whole bit, so when did you plan on telling the people you live with?
This will not be the only bump in your road to realism - what about when someone refers to you as 'he', or addresses you by a male name? And what about when you can't stand the pressure of living a double-gendered life? You want to be a man? Then be a good, solid, up-standing man and be an honest man.

Ok I can see how weird it would be for you even if your parents knew because they are your parents and we don't discuss sexual stuff really well with parents. None of us do, straight, gay, transgendered. My suggestion is to call the company that you are ordering the prosthesis through and ask if you can have it sent to another address like a friend or if you have to have the box sent to you ask them if they can make sure there isn't any info on the outside of the box that would give it away. I am sure they are use to dealing with people's privacy so if you call them they will have many suggestions to you.

I hope that you are able to come out to your parents and that they accept you. Remember that if they don't it's because they don't understand not because they don't love you. You are who you are inside and out and as long as you accept yourself for the good person you are you will be fine.

Tell them it is a cd that you bought as a birthday gift for a friend.
Wrap it up like a gift so they won't look inside.

When they leave the house, go somewhere and unwrap it. Throw away the box in a dumpster. Put the prosthesis in a book bag or a grocery store bag. Plastic or paper and return home with it.

Then hide it.

A second option (unsure if was mentioned already or you live in a small town) is go to a big city and go to an adult store. A lot of them now carry items such as these that could make you look like you are "packing." It may be easier than getting sent in the mail, and also you can see the examine the product first to see (pardon the pun) if its the right fit.
Hope this helped.

Tell them you sent for a kit to clean up your car with or something the same buy some likely products and have them ready to show what came in the box.

At some point, you're going to have to come clean about what's going on. Do you think they haven't noticed changes?

In the short term, get a PO box.

For the longer term, find ways to be self supporting. Also, make sure you have proper medical and emotional/psychological support for your transition.

If you have friends that know about your secret already ask them if you can have it sent there. Otherwise tell them it's magazines, or something you have a passion for as in books or something. Good luck.

Be creative. Make your own prosthesis!

Wait. You need to show some self control. If for no other reason than respect for your parents. After you move out, you are free to do what you want.
