Evolution is not solidly demonstrated. "Evolution is just a theory," Darwin's critics point out, as if "theory" meant lack of knowledge, some kind of guess. Scientists, however, use the word theory in a very different sense than the general public does. Theories are the solid ground of science--that about which we are most certain. Few of us doubt the theory of gravity because it is "just a theory"

i need help writing that in my own words, can someone please help me out! Thanks

I would look up the definitions of some of the key words (evolution, theory, science, etc.) and maybe any other relevant material, then reread those statements.
Go to bed and write down what comes to mind first thing in the morning (without looking at your notes).

Just as children us the word "boo-boo" or "owie" to describe something like leukemia or gangrene, so do the uninformed call a "theory" speculation.
