Many - many, worth while causes out there waiting for volunteers. Search your area for anything that appeals to you, and see how it will effect your life and schedule. Then make a decision. As a Sr. Adviser of a non-profit I will always see volunteers jump in to quickly, to later find that it was a bad choice on their part. So, I have trained staff to help to find what are that volunteers interest, skills, and most importantly the purpose for choosing our Agency. We have also set up a screening process, to assure that the volunteer will match well, adjust, and will stay and be a part of the organization for some time. So, be sure to check it out well, before making your choice. It will benefit you by choosing well, and the organization by not having to re-recruit from a lack of interest. Hope this will help you to find something out there, that you will make a great commitment to and will truly be appreciated.

I suppose it is by being a good citizen and upholding the honour of our respective country. Some actions may be as follows:
Fight for equality of all. Discrimination should not exist.
Work towards education for all.
Perform some voluntary / social work even if we are very much occupied with our professional life.
Help the poor and needy.
Fight for justice in society.
Earn reputation as a politician, sportsman, professional etc overseas.
Be good and do good.
I believe these are genuine actions which are services to one's country,.
