The Israelites were a chosen nation of people by God. He formed a covenant with them (a covenant is more or less a contract) to protect them and provide for them as long as they obeyed him. The Messiah would come from the Nation of Israel.

God promised them protection in exchange for obedience.

Moses was appointed by God to A) Lead the Israelites out of captivity in Egypt and B) to lead them into the Promised Land.

Aaron is Moses' brother. He was assigned by God to assist Moses in his duties. Moses felt unqualified to speak to the Pharoah and to lead the people, so God gave him Aaron to help him with that.

Covenant means a contract or agreement.

That's all I can do without actually going and getting my Bible and rereading it for myself. Hope it helps!
