About 5 months ago in September 2006 on my Birthday. Actually, usually my parents buy me a cake every year on my Birthdat but I knew they wouldn't this year because they were busy with their own lives. Instead of expecting a cake from them, I baked myself a homemade chocolate cake! It tasted good, if I do say so myself.

January 21 to celebrate my dad an my sister's birthdays. I made my dad a German Chocolate cake and my sister a strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting. YUMMY. Somebody needs to get in the kitchen and make you a cake, STAT!

My children started to make their own after an in home cooking class. Now, it is just "cheap" to purchase a store bought cake, and nowhere as much fun. They have taken over the task, and have even incorporated it into the party, allowing their friends to add a special touch to it.

but if you're going to buy a birthday cake for me, make sure it has real whipped cream frosting, not the egg white and sugar junk

I bake my own birthday cake..because the store bought ones taste so gross..and overly sugary. I even bake for the girls at work on their birthdays.....so yeah..there ya go.

my mother has always made me cream puffs for my birthday because i would rather have that than cake..and i make them for my friends too when it is their birthday but make mine tiny, fill them with a white chocolate mixture and put them together with a caramelized mixture and build a tower and stick sparklers it in

My husband makes me one from scratch every year, using my Grandma's recipe. When he wasn't here for my birthday one year, he gave the recipe to a friend to make sure I still got it!
